Hi, I’m Willow

I'm two and a half, I'm bossy, I'm funny, I'm cute and I love my baby brother Albie. My favourite colour is pink, I love Peppa Pig and Hello Kitty and I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy type II (SMA).

This means I cannot crawl, kneel, get from a lying position to sitting or walk. I will never be able to do any of these things unless a cure is found. The one thing that would make my life better and enable me to do all the things a two and a half year old should be doing is a powered wheelchair. I already use a manual wheelchair indoors but it isn’t for use outside and I’m not strong enough to propel myself outside anyway. In a powered wheelchair I’ll be able to run along side my brother, hold my mummy’s hand whilst we walk to the park, reach up to the letter box and post a letter, pick a toy up from the floor.

Most importantly I’ll have independence, something most of my little friends achieved before they were 18 months old. The life changing chair I hope to get costs £22,000. It is not available on the NHS so my mummy and daddy need to raise the funds to pay for it themselves. It is custom built to fit me and will last me about 5 years. It will make my life much better.

Please help me to get mobile, oh, and they can paint it pink for me!!!!

The Snapdragon wheel chair

Here's the chair I need, isn't she a beauty!

I recently tried out the Snappy and loved it. I can use it as a chair but it also has a standing frame attachment so I can move around upright too!

Here’s a video of me in action!
